Teething has officially made Adeline sick...her nose has been running and running all day today.

Our Little Reader

I think Adeline reads more than she does anything else...here she is reading her (upside-down) book in the car. This is one of her favourite books right now...it is full of photographs and it even has a few of Kittys (Ki-kes).

Another Birthday

Uncle Timmy has FINALLY moved back!!! And because we missed his birthday and he missed Adeline's we had a mini party to celebrate!!!

Eating

Adeline has been pretty sad these last few days (or weeks, I can't even remember now). She has even had difficulty eating. She'll be doing just fine then BAM she soooo upset and angry, she just can't take it anymore. When eating, I think that the chewing where her molars are coming is hurts her and she just doesn't know what to do. Poor, poor baby. I sure hope they cut soon!

Playing Outside

Have I mentioned that Adeline's Teething? I think molars bring out the worst in our amazing little lady! But she LOVES being outside, so it helps us get through these long, hard days. All I keep telling myself is this will pass!!!

Shoes!!

Adeline loves her shoes!!!! She says "shoes" (in her own way) and tries to put them on her feet. I think she is going to grow up with a healthy shoe fetish (just like her Mommy).

SHE CAN DO IT!!!

Adeline can now make her Gumball machine work all by herself. She pushes the button which makes the ball come down and plays some music and then she picks up the ball and puts it back in the top...This makes me very happy! I no longer have to sit there to keep putting the balls in while Adeline makes the noise.

At the Park

On Wednesdays we meet up with other moms and kids from the church at the park for some fun playing and mommy hang out time! It is great...even though Adeline has been teething up a storm, a park and a bunch of kids is bound to make her happy for at least an hour and a half...and give Mommy a much needed break from Shmadeline ;)

In & Out

As I have mentioned Adeline has started taking things out and also putting them in...here she is putting all the letters and animals in her barn, using the barn door rather than the sorting slots (which I am sure will come later).

Packing Mom's Bag

Adeline has recently stated this really cute thing...rather than only taking things out, she can now also put them in. Randomly throughout the day I'll see her putting things in. Today she was putting her sorting blocks in my bag...maybe she wanted them to come to the store with us ;) She will also now put her own toys away, with prompting, put the books back onto the shelf and help me fold the laundry. She gives me the clothes and I fold them, it is a great system for now...much better than the I grab them and fold them and she unfolds them!

Sunday Afternoon Car Nap

We had a family outing to the Fringe today. We watched a bit of a show, listened to some music, got a balloon and a cupcake and got in some great walking in the sun today! It was awesome! Then on the way home Adeline fell asleep and because she does not do the transfer from the car seat to the crib well we just left her in the car seat to sleep. We found a shady spot to park, unrolled the windows, turned off the car and the whole family had a Sunday Afternoon Car Nap. It was blessed! We napped for over an hour!

Blackberries!!

Don't worry Adeline is not a cannibal, although by the looks of this picture you may argue otherwise ;) Sometimes sign language is a powerful tool and others it is an annoying one! Right after dinner today Adeline kept telling me she wanted to eat. Over and over and over again she was doing the sign for eat. So I gave her a snack, she didn't want it. Well I finally gave her some frozen blackberries in a mesh bag and she slurped them all up, making a mess of herself in the meantime!

Tutu

Adeline really enjoys playing with her Tutu...the one I got for her for her cake smash photo shoot. So today after she was finished playing with it, I put it on her while we went out and about! It was just toooooooo cute!

Just Like Daddy

Apparently Adeline likes to work on cars! She was having a great time sitting on the edge of the 1983 Rabbit Dad has been working on. She was even 'helping' a bit! See Daddy, the battery just needed a little banging!

Revenge

I think Adeline was feeling a little neglected today! I have been getting some stuff done on the computer while she plays nicely on the floor in front of me. Well today she crawled up to me and just shut my computer and then started chomping on the cord. As if to say, "Mommy stop playing on your computer and I'm gonna cut the cord with my teeth to make sure you can never use it again!!!!"

Hot Day, Cold Treat

A hot day, like today, calls for some cold treats! So we popped in McDonald's to have some ice cream. Adeline enjoyed the first 3 minutes of it then had a breakdown!!!!! One of those sobbing breakdowns. I am thinking that it got a bit too cold for her and she really didn't like it...other than that I have no explanation for the breakdown. It was ok, Daddy showed up for a surprise visit and made everything better.

I Love Me!

Today when we went to the Mazda dealership to drop the Mazdaspeed off for some warranty work Adeline found the the window and was very happy to see another baby there. She was jumping up and down and laughing with excitement!!! I love excited babies (I mean toddlers, because apparently I have a toddler now).

My Little Red Wagon

For her birthday Mommy and Daddy gave Adeline a wagon...and because it has seat belts we are able to use it already! And she is lovin it!!!! Well, as long as I keep her moving. We circled the house a few times this afternoon and Adeline never tired of me pulling her around and around along the same path. We stopped to visit the puppy a few times, even taking her for a little ride too (until she had enough and jumped ship). I think the wagon is going to be a well used present for many years to come!

1st Birthday Party

Today was Adeline's big 1st Birthday Party!!! I have to say it was a HUGE success. Many friends and family joined us to celebrate Adeline and her first year of life. We had some great food, cooked by Daddy! It was so awesome to connect with many of the Mommies and to see the Babies Adeline has grown up with over this past year. Adeline was blessed with so many wonderful gifts, we are just blown away at the generosity of both our family and friends. Thank you to all who joined us in celebrating Adeline! We love her so much!

Day 217

Reading - Again

Adeline has started going into her room periodically to read books. She will just craw down the hall into her room and choose some books from her shelf and spend some quality time reading her favourite books. Today I went into her room and she was between her chair and shelf reading 'How Many Kisses Goodnight' a before nap and bedtime favourite. I think she spent about half an hour looking through and 'reading' books to herself today. I love that we have instilled a love of literature in our daughter. I hope these lessons continue with her into adulthood too!

Grumpy Baby

She may not look that grumpy in this picture, but Adeline was about as grumpy today as she has EVER been! The only way I could get her to stop screaming was to literally give her my ice cream cone. I got us 1 ice cream, thinking that we could just share. She would have some licks and I would have some licks and then at the end I would finish off the cone. Well, apparently Adeline had other thoughts. She was screaming and screaming (it just might be teeth) and then I gave her our cone and she stopped. I took it back to have some and the screaming continued again. So I just gave up, handed over the cone and drowned my misery with some Facebook time. She ate the whole thing...cone and all!!!!!! I was shocked!

HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY ADELINE!

It was 1 year ago today at exactly 8:13pm that you blessed us with your presence! We are so thankful to have such a beautiful, amazing, bright, silly, sociable, and sometimes grumpy little girl as our daughter! You truly have made our lives so full of joy and love just by being part of our family. The world is a better place with you in it! Happy 1st Birthday Adeline Everleigh Milligan!

Nibbled & Noshed

Adeline is in love with searching through the fridge to find something to eat! On this specific occasion she found a yogurt and began chomping away at the packaging...I'm thinking she was a bit hungry!
