Nibbled & Noshed

Adeline is in love with searching through the fridge to find something to eat! On this specific occasion she found a yogurt and began chomping away at the packaging...I'm thinking she was a bit hungry!

Day 213

Adeline's First Chocolate Cookie

She too one HUGE bite and proceeded to toss the rest aside...Daddy promptly scooped it up and finished it off for her.

I just realized the other day that Adeline was not talking to me each and every time she eats...that's just how she says Yum Yum.

Day 201

Yummm Blueberries

Adeline LOVES blueberries!!! For breakfast today all she wanted to eat was blueberries...no cereal, no applesauce and no yogurt..just more and more and more blueberries. You can see in the second pic she is gearing up to ask for more blueberries even though she still had some on the table. It is so precious to see her communicating at such a young age. She is able to ask for more (of whatever she is eating), milk (which at this point means drink...could be milk or water) and she tells us when she is finished eating by saying all done. It's really taking the guess work out of having a 1 (or almost) year old.

Day 200

Yummm

Adeline defiantly get enough dairy in a day. Today she asked for THIRDS of her yogurt lunch. I then offered her a cookie and she only wanted it if it was dipped in yogurt...plain yogurt; silly baby! She also wanted to feed herself and share with me...what a nice baby!

Day 153

Standing

You are not yet able to independently stand (or even pull yourself up), but you sure enjoy doing it when holding on to Mommy or Daddy or the couch or a laundry basket or the table or the side of your crib (pictured above) or even Chloe. One of your favourite things to do lately is kiss all the bugs on your mobile. And now that you can stand and hold onto your crib with one hand you are able to grab and kiss the bugs with the other. Each and every time we go into your room you stare longingly at the mobile, hoping that you will be able to kiss the bugs again...and most times I let you, because it's just so darn cute ;)

Food?

Today you came outside with Daddy and I to play while we got some much needed yard work done. I plopped you in the middle of a blanket, next to a tree, with a bucket of toys within reach and what do you do...get onto you knees and stretch as far as you can so you can reach a pinecone. You were quite fond of how it felt as you fingered it in each hand and then in both together, but you were not a fan of how it felt in your mouth nor the way it tasted on your tongue. But Daddy and I are very proud of how you are so adventurous and willing to try new things!

Apparently Adeline likes pancakes...and she finally drank milk from a sippy cup today! YAY!!!!

Day 106

Baked Ziti

Kris and I have been watching a lot of The Soprano's lately and they seem to talk about Baked Ziti A LOT!!! Well today we decided that we would have some of that Baked Ziti for dinner tonight and that is just what we did. Baked Ziti is a lot like lasagna, it has noodles, it has a tomato based sauce, it has meat and it has a lot of cheese! For this baked ziti dish I made you make some meatballs (BTW this was hands down the best meatball recipe I have ever used) and cook them in your pasta sause and you make some ziti noodles and you toss them with some ricotta and mozzarella cheese then you layer and bake. So for Adeline tonight I gave her some noodles and meatballs from before the whole bake stage, without the gravy (that is what they call tomato sauce on The Soprano's...I'm not sure how she felt about the actual taste of the food, as she has not been a very big eater lately), but it was funny to watch her feeling the noodles with her hands and try to get some in her own mouth...we even got one of them on her finger as a ring ;)

Day 98

Having a Snack With Jack

After stollercise today Adeline and I met Jack and Bethany at IKEA for some lunch, a walk and some frozen yogurt!  There were some good times happening today.  Jack and Adeline sat on the couch together, played beside each other, had some Baby Mum Mums and even had a bit of a chat!

Day 72

I Scream, You Scream

Apparently Adeline likes ice cream (well technically frozen yogurt...but it doesn't have the same ring to it). What person in their right mind would shun this sweet, tasty, cold treat, especially if their nose it too plugged to drink from a bottle and they have been cutting some nasty teeth for well over a week now.
