Grumpy Baby

She may not look that grumpy in this picture, but Adeline was about as grumpy today as she has EVER been! The only way I could get her to stop screaming was to literally give her my ice cream cone. I got us 1 ice cream, thinking that we could just share. She would have some licks and I would have some licks and then at the end I would finish off the cone. Well, apparently Adeline had other thoughts. She was screaming and screaming (it just might be teeth) and then I gave her our cone and she stopped. I took it back to have some and the screaming continued again. So I just gave up, handed over the cone and drowned my misery with some Facebook time. She ate the whole thing...cone and all!!!!!! I was shocked!

Day 198

Whyte Ave Art Walk

After Adeline's nap today we took her to Whyte ave to check out all the art along Edmonton's annual art walk. We only ended up going about 4 blocks before Shmadeline was rearing her ugly head and we needed to go home. If you don't know, Shmadeline is Adeline's alter ego. When Adeline is really grumpy we call her Shmadeline. Usually Shmadeline only needs some food or a nap and Adeline magically reappears, but today was a different story. We think the cause of Shmadeline's extended stay today was Adeline's numerous mosquito bites. Daddy picked up some calamine lotion and we doused Shmadeline in it all of a sudden Adeline was back with us!

Day 105

Teething Trials

Teething with a vengeance continues, but hopefully the end is in sight!! This Adeline's 6th tooth, her top left lateral incisor, has begun poking out and been the cause of much pain on our lives this week. Adeline now has her front two top and bottom teeth and her top and bottom later incisors on the left side only. Which makes me laugh...oh how I love(d) symmetry. Even though she is a little more grumpy and wayyyy more irritable that usual, she is still a pretty happy baby; and she still loves to laugh!

Day 95

Laundry Basket Babysitter 2

I had one grouchy baby on my hands today...that's what happens when you are up every hour through the night two days in a row and you won't nap. =) So again I found a babysitting job for the laundry basket, my teeth thank you o laundry basket extraordinaire!

Day 86

My Two Sick Babies

Adeline and Daddy both got the flu last night and it of course carried over into today as well. They were (especially Adeline) a little more sensitive than usual today. But it was nice because Daddy and Baby A got some quality snuggling time!

Day 74

IKEA Breakfast

We met Carter and his Mommy at IKEA for some delicious breakfast and shopping this morning...not that Adeline got to enjoy any of the breakfast part, she was just too busy playing with Mommy's wallet at that time to notice anything else. But as soon as all the food to be had was eaten then Adeline was ready for something. So she shared a Cheerio snack with her friend Carter and then her friend Carter shared is key toy with her. Carter was in charge of playing with the keys and Adeline the tether. They are off to an excellent start in the sharing department.

I am not sure if I have mentioned lately (scoff) that Adeline has been teething...and it feels like it has been going for more than a week now. Well, as Adeline opened her mouth today I caught a glimpse of tooth #5 (her bottom left lateral incisor)...therefore she is cutting three teeth (that I can see) at this time. No wonder I have had a grumpy baby on my hands as of lately.

Day 8

Adeline & Mommy

Today was a snow day! It was relatively mild out, but it did not stop snowing for a day and a half and when you already have a foot+ snow on the ground that much more makes it a LOT! To make matters worse, Adeline was in a pretty grumpy mood all day (thus the grumpy looking baby and mommy in the picture today). Hopefully we are back to normal tomorrow.
