Day 226

Sunday Afternoon Car Nap
We had a family outing to the Fringe today. We watched a bit of a show, listened to some music, got a balloon and a cupcake and got in some great walking in the sun today! It was awesome! Then on the way home Adeline fell asleep and because she does not do the transfer from the car seat to the crib well we just left her in the car seat to sleep. We found a shady spot to park, unrolled the windows, turned off the car and the whole family had a Sunday Afternoon Car Nap. It was blessed! We napped for over an hour!

Day 205

Home
Although Adeline is a great travler, she is not great at sleeping, or just being for that matter, anywhere other than home. The first night it took her over an hour to get to sleep and was up and hour earlier than usual. The next day she had one good nap, in the morning, but did not nap at all in the afternoon, therefore we had a VERY sad baby come dinner time. Saturday night she went to sleep much quicker, it only took her about 30 minutes to get to sleep, but she woke up around 3am and could not get and stay sleeping. About an hour and a half later Dad got her to sleep by holding and rocking her and had to have her in his arms while they slept, it was precious...but so hard to appreciate at 3 in the morning. Then she again was up an hour earlier than her usual wake up time. So we decided to leave just in time for her first, rather than her second nap. She slept 3 hours on the way home and then another hour when we were at home and was out at 7pm (about 2 minutes after we put her down) this evening...I'm thinking we had a pretty sleep deprived baby. Well, that was our mini vacation in a nutshell. We did have a good time visiting Fronteer Lodge for the first time and seeing our friend Becky was awesome!

Day 144

Sleeping Baby
Adeline fell asleep in her car seat today, doesn't she just look too precious for words! The problem with this is now that she is in her big girl seat it makes it a little more difficult to keep her sleeping when we get home :( ...but today Daddy and I tag teamed her! I got the doors all unlocked and her room all ready and Daddy carried her into the house and got her in her bed and she actually stayed (mostly) asleep. Therefore she got an hour nap rather than just the 20 minutes in the car. YAY!!! When I say mostly asleep what I mean is she squawked a little when Kris put her in the bed, but then fell back into a nice little slumber.

Day 138

All Great Things Must Come to an End
I don't really believe this...except in the case of vacation, because if it's not ending, then it's not a vacation. The time we spent in Vancouver was awesome!!!! Adeline had some great Uncle Time and Kris and I thoroughly enjoyed "living" down-town Vancouver for a week (and seeing Timmy too;). We were just steps away from the beach and a short leap from Stanley Park, it really could not have been any better. Adeline slept pretty well and was in great spirits for most of the trip (other than the ear infection induced grumpyness for a day). It's unfortunate Timmy and Taylor are moving back to Edmonton or we would make Vancouver our yearly vacation spot!

Sleeping in the Plane again (thank God)

Good to be Home
Although we had a amazing time in Vancouver it is good to be home. It's good to have a bit more space and to have our daily comforts back. Adeline (as you may notice from above) is also very happy to be home!

Day 130

30,000 Feet
Adeline is a surprising great flyer! She was awake and watching out the window, laughing with Daddy and smiling at our hostess for the first 30 minutes. Then our tired, hungry baby drank a bottle and fell asleep; she slept for the following 45 minutes. As we began our descent she began stir and then finally woke up just in time for the last 15 minutes of our flight.

Good thing I brought a bag full of entertainment...because we did not use even one piece of it.

Flowers
Our thoughtful and welcoming host set up some beautiful flowers in our room :) - Just wanted to share...Thanks Bro!

Day 119

Telus World of Science
Adeline and I went to the Telus World of Science with our Mommy Group today. We watched a show (which Adeline did not last through) and went to Discovery Land to play. The kids had a pretend picnic (see top pic) while the mommies got to hangout and talk. Then we went to the very large piano and the kids to to make some music (which Adeline always likes to do) and then Adeline and I were pretending to be puppets! We had a great time...BIG thank you to Shaena for getting us into the TWOS for free!

Sleeping Baby
I love watching Adeline sleep...so precious

Day 75

More New Shoes
I am not sure if you remember my last New Shoes post from Day 26, if you recall Adeline loves new shoes...she comes by it honestly, I can also see a love of purses in her future as well (just like mom). Adeline and I met up with Grandma and Uncle Timmy today for some lunch and shopping, Uncle Timmy's Favourite!!! I am not so sure Adeline was diggin on the shopping today, she slept, Uncle Timmy babysat in the van while Grandma and Mommy did all the actual shopping. Well Adeline got some new shoes again today, but since she kept kicking off her socks today I could only put one new shoe on her...she didn't seem to mind! I think she likes them; they were helping her do some good standing today.

I Got My New Hat On
Adeline also got a new hat today and although she typically hates hats (usually the warm, winter variety) she didn't seem this one. It might just be because with this hat also comes the promise of sunnier and hopefully warmer weather.

Day 12

Sleeping Baby
Adeline and I went to the mall today...I walked, she slept. When I peeked in on her this is what she looked like.
