Day 171

Crawling...will it happen?

Adeline, you are a bit of a reluctant crawler. You had been getting up on your knees for weeks...and now, nothing. I am not really sure what to think about that. We have been doing some practicing though...I will prop you up on your knees, you will move your hands and I will move your knees and that seems to help you get the general movements down...so much so that today I propped you up and you moved you hands and knees (not very far, but you are getting the idea). As you can see from the picture above, I was just not quick enough on the draw to actually get a shot of you in the crawling position...but you are on you tummy, so that has to count for something, because as soon as you drop off you knees and onto your hands and tummy you scream bloody murder for someone to change your positon. We are hoping that crawling is happens some time before your first birthday!

Day 91

Playing

I love that Adeline keeps getting better and better at playing independently.  Today she sat on the floor and played with her toys alone for a whole 10 minutes.  She sat there! and didn't fall over and played, it was soooo nice; I finally got some TV watching done! Wow the TV shows have been building and building up these past few weeks and I just have not found the time to get to them lately, but now that Adeline can sit unassisted for a whole 10 minutes, you can't imagine the TV watching I'll be able to get done! Tee-Hee!

But seriously, it was nice that she was able to sit and play with herself for a while...she also did some tummy time after she was done with sitting and looksie how high up she is able to push herself now!  Maybe one of these days she will even roll herself over ;)

Day 66

Adeline's Throne

Today Adeline and I were having some TUMMY TIME! I know hey, she is doing soooo good! Well, I looked over and saw Chloe's bed just sitting there waiting to have Adeline sit in it. So I put Adeline in it and then thought why have I never done this before?? She quite enjoyed it, until she tipped over and smashed her head on the wood entertainment unit...then she was sad, but Chloe being the nice doggie she is came over and gave Adeline some nice licks in the mouth and that made Adeline feel better.

*I know the picture is just not that cute...but all the ones where Adeline is smiling or laughing are all fuzzy because I could not stop laughing, and I thought it was fun having a dog ;)

Day 65

Tummy Time

Although tummy time is not Adeline's favourite thing in the whole world, she doesn't mind it as much as she once did. She has really started to push herself up so she may survey all she owns. Not only is she now pushing herself up pretty high, but now she is also able to move herself. Today she rotated her body 90 degrees so she could see what Daddy was doing in the kitchen and then she rotated herself back to where she started so she could see what Mommy was doing in the living room. Adeline will also push herself backwards a bit as well. Exciting times in the Milligan household!!!! By golly I think she'll crawl before she even rolles ;)

Oh ya, Adeline also added a new sound to her repertoire....ba-ba-ba-ba-ba. She is quite the little talker, just like Dad!

Day 55

Rockin But Still No Rollin...

Adeline still will not roll...try as I may, try as I might nothing I do makes her do the big R. What you see in the picture above is as far as she will go. I have enticed her with toys, fun noises, me and even the coveted kitty...but still nothing! I have concluded that she is never going to roll from back to belly...but at least she sits! Oh ya, and she still HATES tummy time and then again maybe it's just the teething.

Update: Adeline pooped in the bath AGAIN!!!! I am now under the impression she thinks that the bath is her personal toilet...maybe it's time to start potty training ;)

Day 49

Tummy Time

If you have ever read this blog before or you know Adeline at all you know that Adeline HATES tummy time. She despises it. Whenever I put her on her tummy she only lasts about 30 seconds before she is fussing and wants to be flipped back onto her back. But after our tummy time experiences (yes I did use the plural) today I think her opinion of being on her tummy is changing (or at least I hope it is). We had some early morning tummy time in bed this morning and then we went to school (where Adeline teaches) she had a good (and long) tummy time there as well. She is getting so much stronger and liking it so much more now...this makes me a happy mamma. And maybe one of these days she will even roll from her back onto her tummy.

Day 10

Tummy Time

Adeline HATES tummy time. The mear face that I was able to snap this photo was a miracle, because usually by the time I put her down on her tummy and grab my camera she is either bawling or has gotten so fed up with being on her tummy that she has flipped to her back. I always tell people that the only reason she has rolled from tummy to back is because she hates being on her tummy so much that all she wants to do is get off it. With all that being said, she has started to like it more and more these past few weeks (we have been working hard! so hard so I am breaking a sweat). But she still refuses to roll from her back to her belly.
