Day 283

 I am thankful...
We had a thanksgiving dinner this evening with Nana, Papa, Auntie Thea, Uncle Nathaniel and Auntie Alisha.  It was so much fun!!! We had a great turkey casserole and then went outside, across the street to hang out and toss the football around.  Adeline had a great time watching Daddy throwing the football around with Papa and Uncle Nathaniel.  As you can see she wanted to join in the fun at times...but mostly she was content to sit (or stand) and watch the football spin through the air from person to person.

Day 168

Nightly Walks
On most nights you, Daddy and I have been taking nightly walks. Often we go to Ada Blvd, but today we decided to go to Rundle Park. Summers are amazing down at Rundle Park. It is so treed in and secluded from the rest of the world...you totally don't realize you are still in the city. There are many (and when I say many, I mean many!!!) Canada Geese who make the lakes there their homes. They waddle and swim around leading their chicks, it is the most precious thing and you love to just watch them and at times even they get rather close!

Today we took a path that at times was very treed in and very beautiful, as you may see from the second picture (I know it's not you, I just had to included it)! It looked like a beautiful spring snowfall (I cringe at the fact that I was thinking about snow fondly as it was such a long and hard winter this year!). But it was a rather amazing sight to come around the bend and see all the dandelion fluff stuck to the grass and floating in the air.

Day 136

Walking Through Stanley Park
Stanley Park is amazing! There are so many different trails to walk and things to see. We have visited it in some capacity almost every day since being in Vancouver...and if I lived here it would most definitely become a regular hang out for the Milligan Family. Today we walked through even more of the park than days before. As we were walking we saw some Canada Geese with their chicks (some chicks were just born - still had their yellow down feathers and others were a bit older and were getting darker in colour already), many old gnarly trees, a lake, a stream and some squirrels. It is pretty amazing to be in the middle of a big city and see all that involves (sky scrapers and many story condos) and also be in the middle of a lush oasis. In my opinion nothing could be better...even with the constant sprinkle this afternoon.

The Vancouver Aquarium
Watching the Dolphin show.
(Adeline sat quietly and watched the whole show...I think she liked the dolphins. She would see them jump up and do a trick and then look back at me, like she was wanting to say: "Hey Mom, did you see that?"

Checking out the Anemone

Checking out the Clown Fish
(Adeline kept saying sh-sh-sh...yes sweetie, these are Fish)

Sleeping Through the Shallow Seas 4D Show
(Mom got to wear these sweet glasses...although she did not get to enjoy the show sitting down)

Jelly Fish (I thought it was a cool picture and wanted to share)

Silly Uncle Timmy and Daddy

Day 134

The Sea Bus
First thing this morning we all woke up and took the sea bus to North Shore for some McDonald's breakfast. Adeline enjoyed the ride, but was well on her way out during this picture and was fully out about 3 minutes later and slept pretty much until we got home. (I know the picture sucks...but I love that you can see the city in the background)

Olympic Village
We took the Canada Line to the Olympic Village stop so we could go to Canadian Tire to get some mouse bait and traps. Daddy took a turn babywearing and as soon as Adeline was on his chest she proceeded to spew puke all over his chest...it was nice that it was daddy for once and not mama ;)

Day 132

SUN!!
Finally! We took advantage by touring Stanley Park...Uncle Timmy had fun learning to drive the stroller and playing with Adeline at the Park. It was also nice to have a photographer with us so we can take some Milligan family photos!

Day 131

Babywearing Walk on the Stanley Park Sea Wall
Our little Adeline is still on Edmonton time, therefore she was up at 5:30 Vancouver time. So after some breakfast all four of us went out to Stanley Park for a walk. Adeline is very much enjoying her time here in Vancouver and was content to sit in the baby carrier and found great pleasure in taking in the ride and sights. Here is Adeline after about 20 minutes of walking:

Thanks to Uncle Timmy for giving up his hat to help keep Adeline's head warm and dry.

Today was a cold and very wet day, it rained for basically the whole day. Uncle Timmy, Daddy and Mommy were all soaked when we got back to the apartment...but because she was in the carrier under Mommy's vest for two Adeline was cozy warm and dry.

Day 118

Babywearing Walk
We went on a Babywearing walk today. That means you go for a nice walk and rather than pushing your bebe in a stroller you wear them on your body. This is good for three reasons, keeps Adeline warm, keeps her happy (because she's close to mama) and it gives mama more of a work out (caring around 20+lbs of Adeline on her front or back). Unfortunately it was not as warm as it has been lately, but we still made it and walked for quite some time...slower than we would have liked, but far more exercise than we get sitting on the couch at home ;) Adeline did enjoy the walk (contrary to the look on her face in the first picture)...but her favourite part was swinging on the swings at the park. Half way through our walk we came across a park so we stopped there as a mid point and let the kids play or eat and mamas got to talk and hang out. There were children being carried (or walking on their own) from age 2 months all the way to 10 years and there was quite a turnout...at one point there were about 17 mamas and 27 kids. It was AWESOME!

*Hey I just noticed...I'm actually in one of my daily pictures for once or maybe this is twice now ;)

Day 117

Sunny Days
Adeline and I have been enjoying these sunny, mild days lately. We have been doing quite a bit of walking and walking in the sun requires us to fashionably keep our milky white winter skin safe from the harsh rays of the sun. Such fashionable duds as the sunny day hat pictured above. I am happy to report that Adeline likes sun hats a trillion times more than she likes winter hats! And as you can see from Adeline's facial expression I can't day she really likes it, but what's more important, she doesn't hate it, and she will wear it (without clawing it off her head or screaming bloody murder when I put it on her). Please get out and enjoy this wonderful weather...I know we will, because who knows how long it will last!
