Day 288

Pajamas

 Adeline LOVES these Pajamas.  She goes into her room and get them several times a day...then she wraps them around her neck and walks around the house with them.  At various times she sits down and plays peek-a-boo (with herself) with the PJs.  I am just not sure what it is about these particular  pajamas that she likes so much, but these are the ONLY PJs she does this with.  Daddy and I always laugh her when she does it...let's hope we haven't damaged her by always making fun of her quirks. 

Day 196

The Zoo

We took a family trip to the zoo today. It was awesome. We stopped to pet the goats. Adeline would touch the goat and her ear would move and Adeline would giggle and giggle and giggle some more and then Adeline would touch the goat again and her ear would move and Adeline would giggle with delight again. Adeline loved all the animals and all the other children. We rode the train and she just sat and took it all in. I think we are going to have to make another trip to the zoo some time.

Day 190

Bath Snack

So today was the first day you did not have even one bottle. It's nice, and not so nice all at the same time. You used to have 3 bottles and 3 meals a day, but now you are all over the 6-7 meals a day. I now realize that it was easier to feed you a bottle of formula than to make and feed you a meal. So now because you are not taking a bottle before bed anymore we decided to give you a bath snack - that's a snack when you are in the bath. You LOVED it!!! You ate all that I had made and drank some milk too. Then you got changed for bed, Daddy read you some books and you fell asleep within 5 minutes of your head hitting your pillow. It was great!! You are becoming such a big girl!

Day 166

Shoes

For Christmas you got your first pair of Chuck Taylors and they finally fit!! You LOVE them...well at least you love the laces! All you wanted to do was lay on your back with your feet in the air playing with you new shoes and you kept untying them...that is until I double knotted them.

Close up of your new shoes...I love them. And now you are just like Mommy. Maybe tomorrow we will have to both wear out Chucks and get Daddy to take a pic!

Day 161

Babies

Last night I hung a picture ledge and filled it with many pictures. First thing this morning Adeline, you and I were walking from the kitchen to the living room and you right away noticed all the photos up on the wall. I though you were going to literally jump out of my arms so you could get closer to the babies you could see on the wall. So I chose pictures of 4 babies (2 of you one of me and one of Daddy) and you were quite entertained by talking to, picking up and eventually puking on these four babies.

Day 160

Kitty

Adeline, there is only one thing you love as much as you love other babies, and that's animals! You and Chloe are best pals and you love opening your mouth to let her lick the inside of your mouth. But your relationship with Kitty is much more complicated. The two of you often watch one another. He will perch on the couch, just out of your reach, and contemplate coming to see you. When he does come and sit next to you, he is often startled off by the sound of your excitement...but not today. Today we got home from out evening walk and Daddy plopped you down on the floor beside Kitty and he stuck around for a bit. You were very careful; at first you didn't make any noise or touch him, you just slowly lifted your hand wanting to touch him, but not wanting him to scamper away. Finally you lowered your hand onto his head and gave him a nice soft pet. You like it, and he must have as well, because Kitty did not take off like he usually does. After you were able to touch him you got a little excited and started moving much faster and more abrupt and excitedly grabbed Kitty's ears (like you often do to Chloe, who is much more easy going than Kitty) and bang he was off the the bullet of a gun. Although Kitty does not give you as much attention as Chloe, your love and curiosity for him never waivers. One day, when you can finally chase after him you will finally get what you want from Kitty...but I'm pretty sure he is not going to be impressed when that day comes.

Adeline is a huge fan of being outside. She LOVES swinging on her swing, sitting in the grass and finding new things and just watching whatever Mommy and Daddy are doing.

Babywearing Daddy

I taught Daddy to use our ring sling today and he LOVED it!!! He says to me, it is sooo nice to have Adeline so nicely snuggled up close to you. Adeline didn't mind it too much either ;)

Adeline Loves Spring

I was repotting some of our indoor plants outside today. I plopped Adeline on the grass, by a tree outside and she was having a ton of fun just playing with her surroundings. She picked some grass and tried to clap it together. She found some branches and used them a teething toys. And then she found some dried leaves and enjoyed the sounds they made when she crumbled them in her hands.

Day 116

Bubbles in the Bath

We have not yet introuduced Adeline to the wonderful world of the bubble bath, but we have let her become acquainted with bubbles while in the bath. Daddy or Mommy will blow bubbles and Adeline will try to catch them in her mouth...so cute! She loves it. Sometimes she just watches them, others she opens up wide and sticks out her mouth to see if she can catch a big one in there and now she has even started trying to catch them with her hands. Oh the fun and wonder of bubbles has begun, and I am looking forward to it continuing for a very long time...and at least at this point I get to have most of the fun, because she lets me blow the bubbles, for now ;)

Spring Swing

We got Adeline a baby swing for our play set in the back yard and she LOVES it!  She gets to relax and swing and Mommy gets some yard work done and we both get outside to enjoy the warmer, sunnier weather, it's the best of both worlds.  

Day 100

Looking at Pictures 

So today I laid Adeline down on the living room floor and proceed to go to the kitchen and make dinner.  It was nice; I could hear her nicely playing with herself on the floor.  I assumed that she had not yet rolled over because lately as soon as she rolls over she gets really frustrated because she cannot roll back and wants someone to help her out.  Well I could hear these sweet little coos coming from her general direction; these noises intrigued me so I went to see what was going on in the living room.  To my surprise I found her, on her tummy looking at a picture of her buddy Jack.  She had in fact rolled over, found her photo album on the floor (had to move to do so), opened up to the page with Jack’s picture on is and was having a little conversation with her friend.  It was tooooo cute! Then she turned the page and started talking to Daddy =)

Day 84

Clapping Cups

I have been looking and looking for something that Adeline can hold in her abnormally small baby hands and clap together (as she is not able to make noise when clapping just her hands together yet). Well apparently I needed to look no farther than my kitchen cupboard because plastic cups are the answer! She LOVES the cups; they are colourful, they are stackable (and more importantly knock downable), there are enough of them that Mommy can play too ;) and the very best thing of all...they are clapable. This toy is brought to you by IKEA and cost all of 2 buckaroos for all 6. Fun and cheap, I love it too!
