Day 258

Big Talker
Adeline and Mommy were having a great time playing outside this morning! She found her blow-up pool and REALLY wanted to go in it...so I put her in the empty pool and she just loved it!!! Then I have her her pool toys and she was in heaven! Adeline pulled her Kitty out if its mini kennel and was talking and talking to her.  Then she was trying real hard to put the kitty back into the kennel...which was very difficult because it is a very tight squeeze!

Swinger
Now that it is not too hot we are spending more time outside (and because our days without snow are numbered). Adeline is an outside-body (rather than a home body ;).  She LOVESSSSS being outside!!! We had a blast swinging in the swing.  I would push her and say wheeee and she would say weeeeee (in her own Adeline way).  I'm gonna have to get Daddy to mow all the pinecones up, as all Adeline wants to do sometimes is crawl around and eat them!

Day 182

Happy Canada Day!
We celebrated Canada's Birthday by going to a parade on Whyte Ave. It was called the Silly Summer Parade so we could not pass that up. You most enjoyed playing with your flags and watching the other kids watching the parade. You also like all the kids riding their bikes.

I didn't get a picture of it yet, but you totally did some crawling today...only about 3 "steps" but crawling none the less!!!!! YAY FOR YOU ADELINE!!! And you have mastered getting from your tummy to the sitting position, it is great because now when you are upset about being on your tummy (sometimes) you do something about it rather than whine and cry for me to help you. And you have started saying puppy and every so often baby (rather than Jack for babies now). And all this just before you cross the 11th month threshold. Great Work Adeline!

Day 161

Babies
Last night I hung a picture ledge and filled it with many pictures. First thing this morning Adeline, you and I were walking from the kitchen to the living room and you right away noticed all the photos up on the wall. I though you were going to literally jump out of my arms so you could get closer to the babies you could see on the wall. So I chose pictures of 4 babies (2 of you one of me and one of Daddy) and you were quite entertained by talking to, picking up and eventually puking on these four babies.

Day 156

Snakes
Adeline, today we went to a trade fair. I had you facing me in the carrier and you spent the whole time talking...to EVERYTHING. You were just so happy to be out and about and surrounded by people. You were very intrigued by the reptile booth and especially by the snakes. When we first walked up the the booth the man working the booth had a snake around his neck and you were so enticed by it that you reached right out and grabbed it...but then you were a little taken aback by how it felt that you pretty much kept your hands to yourself the rest of the time were checking out the reptiles. That did not stop you from giving them intense stares though ;)

I feed myself, mom!
So now do you not only want to feed yourself you bottle, but you also want to be in total control of your food too. When I used to give you these pouches of food to try and feed them to yourself you would just squeeze them so hard that the food would squirt out and get all over the place, but today when we tried again you were in complete control. You would take the pouch in your hand, then put your finger in the hole where the food comes out (I think to make sure there was still food in there), then finally you would put the hole to you lips and suck out all the food you could get in one long draw. You were quite pleased with yourself after learning how to eat like a big girl...you ate the whole pouch all by yourself. - P.S. make sure you take note of you hair in the picture...we are trying out a new style!

Day 139

Talking to the Puppy's Eye

Talking to the Banana

Talking to Giraffe's Foot

Adeline spent quite a bit of time talking to her toys today...They were all toys that were left at home for our trip, she clearly missed them.

Day 123

It Won't Be Long Now
Just today Adeline got her knees up under her and has begun rocking a but...I am sure she will be crawling in the next week or week and a half! Exciting times in the Milligan house!

Helping With the Laundry
Adeline was having a lot of fun standing in front of the laundry basket and going through all the pieces of clothing.

Adeline Loves the Fish
Remember how Adeline used to say F-F-F for the word fish when looking at the fish tank...well today she looked right up at the fish tank and said ssshhh (see the video below for proof, you will have to listen carefully)...again it won't be long until she puts the f and the sh together!

Today was a BIG day
Adeline learned to bring her knees up under herself, she stood holding on to something independently, she said ssshhh (for fish) and then mimicked Daddy and said Da-da.

Day 100

Looking at Pictures
So today I laid Adeline down on the living room floor and proceed to go to the kitchen and make dinner.  It was nice; I could hear her nicely playing with herself on the floor.  I assumed that she had not yet rolled over because lately as soon as she rolls over she gets really frustrated because she cannot roll back and wants someone to help her out.  Well I could hear these sweet little coos coming from her general direction; these noises intrigued me so I went to see what was going on in the living room.  To my surprise I found her, on her tummy looking at a picture of her buddy Jack.  She had in fact rolled over, found her photo album on the floor (had to move to do so), opened up to the page with Jack’s picture on is and was having a little conversation with her friend.  It was tooooo cute! Then she turned the page and started talking to Daddy =)

*100 Days down...265 to go!

Day 76

Mirror, Mirror on the Wall
Adeline has this sun shaped mirror and lately it has become one of her favourite toys. She will take it in her hands look into it then move it really close to her face and talk to the baby she sees in the mirror...it is tooooo cute. When she talks to the baby she has this really sweet voice (different from her every day voice) I think she really loves that baby!

Snaggle Tooth
That is what I have been calling Adeline since these top two teeth have been coming in...as it looks like they are coming in crooked because of the shape of her gums. For a while all I could see was just the corner of her tooth and it was a super sharp point. Well I finally got a picture of the top teeth!!! Do you see them there (I know they look so small), these ones seem to be growing in so much slower than the others. I think that her bottom lateral incisor is now bigger than these two and these ones cut through the gum (just a bit) 2 weeks before the other bottom one. I've been calling her Snaggle Tooth since these ones started coming in,

Day 62

Pretty Girl
Adeline has enough hair on the top/front of her head to now hold a barrette...a small one, but one none the less. The barrette pictured above is from one of my mommy friends. She posed on Facebook earlier this year that she would handmake something for the first 5 (I think) people that commented on her post and also promised to make something for 5 other people. And for me (Adeline) she made this barrette that is part of a set and a set of butterfly ones as well, though Adeline does not have enough hair for those ones just yet.

Funny thing, I think Adeline's first word is going to be Fish. A few days back we put a new, smaller tank in our living room...so Adeline has been getting a lot of face time with the fish and we have been doing quite a bit of talking and reading about fish. So every time we walked up to the tank I say f-f-fish, so today when we would walk up to the fish tank she would say f-f. And then I would say f-f-fish and she would say f-f. They we were in the bathroom getting ready for a bath and I wanted to test her "talking" abilities, so I said f-f-fish and what did she say do you think? f-f again!!! I was in shock and awe, she is starting to talk (in her own little way;) I love it!

Update on the pooping, after the last incident Daddy did a quick bath, therefore no poop and since then it has ceased...but Daddy is also watching like a hawk during every bath time for anything that looks like a floater.

Here is a funny video for your viewing pleasure:
