Day 218

1st Birthday Party
Today was Adeline's big 1st Birthday Party!!! I have to say it was a HUGE success. Many friends and family joined us to celebrate Adeline and her first year of life. We had some great food, cooked by Daddy! It was so awesome to connect with many of the Mommies and to see the Babies Adeline has grown up with over this past year. Adeline was blessed with so many wonderful gifts, we are just blown away at the generosity of both our family and friends. Thank you to all who joined us in celebrating Adeline! We love her so much!

Day 194

Friends
You had your friend Charlotte over for a visit today. She eats much, much slower than you, so while she was finishing her meal you decided to pick up her scraps from the floor and play with her feet...good thing she is easy going ;)

Helper
While I was making dinner this evening you wanted to help by take out a casserole dish for me...which wold have been really helpful had I actually been making a casserole. Maybe we'll try again tomorrow!

Other note without a pic...today when I put you down for a nap all of a sudden you were crying out pretty loud (and I knew your nap was not over, because I had just put you down 15 minutes ago)...well when I went in to your room you were STANDING!!!! You had figured out how to pull yourself up and you could not get back down. Well I guess it's time to put your crib down to the lowest setting finally.

Day 163

More Friends
Mommy's friend Becky came for a visit today and showered you with tones of Love! You always love seeing Becky she loves to hold and play with you...I think she likes you better than she likes me now ;)

Day 161

Babies
Last night I hung a picture ledge and filled it with many pictures. First thing this morning Adeline, you and I were walking from the kitchen to the living room and you right away noticed all the photos up on the wall. I though you were going to literally jump out of my arms so you could get closer to the babies you could see on the wall. So I chose pictures of 4 babies (2 of you one of me and one of Daddy) and you were quite entertained by talking to, picking up and eventually puking on these four babies.

Day 157

Friends
There seems to be only one baby in the world who can handle your need to talk and touch other babies...and that's Jack. He is even more demanding with physical contact from other babies than you are. After swimming lessons today we went to Jack's house for some lunch and play time. When Jack finally woke up from his nap you would not stop talking his ear off. Then when he was finally over his groggy, I just woke up stage Jack would not stop trying to hug and kiss you. Fortunately you are a HUGE fan of other babies and will let them do pretty much anything to you as long as you can be near them. Here are a few picture Bethany snapped today from your encounter together:

Kisses From Jack.

I think you like Jack's Kisses!

Here is Jack sharing a good book with you. You were very insistant that Jack to tell the story, but you had to be the one to turn the pages...just like when you read with Mommy and Daddy.

Jack was standing up, so you wanted to try it out too...until Jack wanted to give you a hug and thus tackled you to the ground. He is such a kind and loving friend ;)

Day 121

Adeline and Jade
After church today the whole family went over to the Crawford's for lunch to celebrate Mama Crawford's baptism. While we were there Adeline found a new bestie! Jade befriended Adeline, talking and laughing with her, playing with her, wiping her face, feeding her food, giving her a bottle and cleaning up after her when she puked. Jade was doing such a great job with Adeline I was thinking that I may have to hire her to come over here to babysit sometime ;)

Day 119

Telus World of Science
Adeline and I went to the Telus World of Science with our Mommy Group today. We watched a show (which Adeline did not last through) and went to Discovery Land to play. The kids had a pretend picnic (see top pic) while the mommies got to hangout and talk. Then we went to the very large piano and the kids to to make some music (which Adeline always likes to do) and then Adeline and I were pretending to be puppets! We had a great time...BIG thank you to Shaena for getting us into the TWOS for free!

Sleeping Baby
I love watching Adeline sleep...so precious

Day 118

Babywearing Walk
We went on a Babywearing walk today. That means you go for a nice walk and rather than pushing your bebe in a stroller you wear them on your body. This is good for three reasons, keeps Adeline warm, keeps her happy (because she's close to mama) and it gives mama more of a work out (caring around 20+lbs of Adeline on her front or back). Unfortunately it was not as warm as it has been lately, but we still made it and walked for quite some time...slower than we would have liked, but far more exercise than we get sitting on the couch at home ;) Adeline did enjoy the walk (contrary to the look on her face in the first picture)...but her favourite part was swinging on the swings at the park. Half way through our walk we came across a park so we stopped there as a mid point and let the kids play or eat and mamas got to talk and hang out. There were children being carried (or walking on their own) from age 2 months all the way to 10 years and there was quite a turnout...at one point there were about 17 mamas and 27 kids. It was AWESOME!

*Hey I just noticed...I'm actually in one of my daily pictures for once or maybe this is twice now ;)

Day 109

Fun with Lauren's Toys
We had a fun time today getting together with our mommy group and their babies! We were at Lauren's house and Adeline had a blast playing with her fun and new (to Adeline) toys! Especially this exersaucer which had a book about animals and even made animal noises, which Adeline LOVES! If Adeline wasn't on the verge of growing out things like this I would look into getting one from Kijiji.

Day 107

In the Pack 'n Play
I took the baby insert out of the Pack 'n Play the other day and I think Adeline likes it. She sits in the there playing with whatever toys I pack there with her. Even though she is not moving yet it is still nice to have her contained. And it is easy to move it from the loving room to the kitchen when I want to make dinner and Adeline needs to be close to her mama.

Talking With Friends
We went to pick up a few things for the house at IKEA this afternoon and when we were on the way home Adeline got a bit fussy so I gave her her photo album. She preceded to flip through the pages, first Jack, then Daddy, then Mommy and then she got to the picture of her Jack and Carter she began talking to the babies, gently touching them and kissing them too. Kris and I just sat in the front seats quietly snickering, trying not to interrupt her.

Day 100

Looking at Pictures
So today I laid Adeline down on the living room floor and proceed to go to the kitchen and make dinner.  It was nice; I could hear her nicely playing with herself on the floor.  I assumed that she had not yet rolled over because lately as soon as she rolls over she gets really frustrated because she cannot roll back and wants someone to help her out.  Well I could hear these sweet little coos coming from her general direction; these noises intrigued me so I went to see what was going on in the living room.  To my surprise I found her, on her tummy looking at a picture of her buddy Jack.  She had in fact rolled over, found her photo album on the floor (had to move to do so), opened up to the page with Jack’s picture on is and was having a little conversation with her friend.  It was tooooo cute! Then she turned the page and started talking to Daddy =)

*100 Days down...265 to go!

Day 98

Having a Snack With Jack
After stollercise today Adeline and I met Jack and Bethany at IKEA for some lunch, a walk and some frozen yogurt!  There were some good times happening today.  Jack and Adeline sat on the couch together, played beside each other, had some Baby Mum Mums and even had a bit of a chat!

Day 92

Tired Baby
Adeline went to her first birthday party today.  We went swimming and then had pizza and cupcakes (Adeline had Applesauce and Rice, lucky Girl).  It was a lot of fun!!!  On our way home Adeline zonked right out and stayed that way until I woke her up, as it was time for her to eat dinner and get ready for bed.  Adeline was soooo tired that when I went into her room she didn't wake up, when I opened up her curtains and blinds she didn't wake up and when I shone the red light from my camera in her face she still did not wake up...she did not wake up until I went to take off the harness from her car seat.  I'm thinking she was pretty tired after the big party; what do you think?

Day 78

Cafe O'Play
Today Adeline and I met some of the ladies and babies at Cafe O'Play. This is a local coffee shop where parents are invited to "Sit, Sip and Watch Them Play!" And this is exactly what we did. Although Adeline, Jack and Lauren are not really old enough to appreciate all that surrounded them at Cafe O'Play, Kiran, Maddie and Kyra took advantage of all they had to offer. Adeline mostly played in the highchair with Lauren and Jack, beside her. They shared toys (and Mommy's necklace) quite nicely while the mommies were able to enjoy a hot beverage and catch up as many of us had not seen each other in a while.

As well, today Adeline had her first taste of ham...Do you think she likes it?
There was also some mustard on ham (that is the mustard reaction you see at the end of the video)

Day 76

Mirror, Mirror on the Wall
Adeline has this sun shaped mirror and lately it has become one of her favourite toys. She will take it in her hands look into it then move it really close to her face and talk to the baby she sees in the mirror...it is tooooo cute. When she talks to the baby she has this really sweet voice (different from her every day voice) I think she really loves that baby!

Snaggle Tooth
That is what I have been calling Adeline since these top two teeth have been coming in...as it looks like they are coming in crooked because of the shape of her gums. For a while all I could see was just the corner of her tooth and it was a super sharp point. Well I finally got a picture of the top teeth!!! Do you see them there (I know they look so small), these ones seem to be growing in so much slower than the others. I think that her bottom lateral incisor is now bigger than these two and these ones cut through the gum (just a bit) 2 weeks before the other bottom one. I've been calling her Snaggle Tooth since these ones started coming in,

Day 74

IKEA Breakfast
We met Carter and his Mommy at IKEA for some delicious breakfast and shopping this morning...not that Adeline got to enjoy any of the breakfast part, she was just too busy playing with Mommy's wallet at that time to notice anything else. But as soon as all the food to be had was eaten then Adeline was ready for something. So she shared a Cheerio snack with her friend Carter and then her friend Carter shared is key toy with her. Carter was in charge of playing with the keys and Adeline the tether. They are off to an excellent start in the sharing department.

I am not sure if I have mentioned lately (scoff) that Adeline has been teething...and it feels like it has been going for more than a week now. Well, as Adeline opened her mouth today I caught a glimpse of tooth #5 (her bottom left lateral incisor)...therefore she is cutting three teeth (that I can see) at this time. No wonder I have had a grumpy baby on my hands as of lately.

Day 71

Time for Tea
Adeline had her friend Charlotte over today and once they both finally woke up they enjoyed a Tea Party together. Charlotte also brought her mom so her and I also enjoyed some delicious caffeinated beverages and some great conversation. Let's hear it for last minute plans to get together on days when our husbands are busy!

Day 70

Swimming
So today was Strollercise and swimming day again. We, as always, had a great time. Adeline is enjoying swimming more and more each time we go. Today for the first time we went on the big red slide at the swimming pool...it was soooooo fun! Adeline liked it, but Mommy LOVED it! And because Adeline didn't hate it, we will defiantly be doing it again.

Day 56

Swimming Fun
Adeline and I went to the rec centre with some of our mommy and baby friends today. We did some intense, but very fun strollercise and then we did a little swimming. Strollercise is where mama works out, following the leaders instructions while pushing baby in their stroller. Adeline quite enjoyed being pushed around the gym, she spent the entire time clapping her feet together as we circled around and around. After Mommy's work out, it was time for Adeline's. So we went to the pool. Adeline is always hesitant upon entering the pool, taking about 20 minutes before she is truly comfortable being in the open waters. But after that happens she kicks up a storm and splashes everyone with her flapping hands. Today we were introduced to the "Lazy River" a figure eight of enough current to push us through the water...thankfully the water is only a few feet deep ;)
Oh ya, Jack was wearing his new swimsuit today, a speedo, and Adeline likes it.

Day 28

Mommy's Group Get Together
Today Adeline and I joined most of the mommies (Sheeba and baby Kiran were missed) from our Mommy group at Nez's house. We enjoyed a traditional Lebanese meal (which was d.e.licious!!!!), some great conversation and lots of baby play time. It was great to all get together again as Adeline and I have not seen some of those mommies and babies since well before Christmas. It is so much fun to see how the babies are growing and changing and how because of that how their interactions change as well.
