Day 348

Hat!

Every year I want to get us some personalized stockings...well this year I just up and did it!  I have a Mommy one, Kris has a Daddy one and Adeline got one with her name on it.  And of course because Adeline is obsessed with wearing hats she had to have her's on her head! And of course as soon as I put it on, she had to take it off...I am hoping to get a cuter pic one of these days...maybe one where she's actually looking at the camera!

Here are our stockings...and I also have a matching tree skirt.

Let's hope that when we are blessed with more family members they still make these ones ;) 

Day 346

iPhone

Adeline loves the iPhone!! Adeline gets to watch about 20 minutes of TV a week, but we let her play with the iPhone, go figure ;) She is learning some valuable skills though...it's a kids app with animals and counting and she's also learning how to swipe to the next screen...a skill I use thousands of times a day...well maybe not that many, but a lot!  

Day 345

Music

Adeline has pretty much always enjoyed music. But just lately she has started asking to listen to music (using the actual sign and not the sign for again).  She now walks over to the ipod dock, decides she wants to listen to some music, she then comes to me and does the sign for music.  Just today she came to me and did the sign for music and I said "You want me to put on the music?" She then nodded her head, smiled, headed to the doc and climbed up on the chair to enjoy her music. I promptly put on her now favourite...Hanson Snowed In. 

Day 344

Playing Outside

We definitely don't play outside enough!  Adeline LOVES it, but it's just so much darn work!  I enjoy being outside, but really there's not much to do in the winter (for me ;) ). Adeline is good with just doing her normal stuff and especially so because there is no (real) snow on the ground thus far. She pushes the car around saying zoom zoom (yes I say things in double and tripple all the time so Adeline does too!).  When she gets tired of that she checks out the fire pit, then asks for a swing.  She is content to just toddle around out there.  

Although I don't like bundeling up, or even getting Adeline all dressed for cold Edmonton days her up...I have to say she sure looks cute when she's all bundled up!  I just can't get enough of her dimples in the first shot!!!

PUMPKIN

Today Adeline and I went to the store to chose our pumpkins! one for Mama, one for Dada and one for Adeline. Adeline chose a small round one and we chose a tall one for Dada (those are the ones he likes) and Mama chose a HUGE one for a special project she has in mind ;)

Reading

Adeline loves books and reading.  She is the biggest reader I know.  Even more than Mommy and Daddy! She still ventures off at all times during the day to go in her room and "read!" Well, I filled a bucked with Halloween books and trick-or-treating buckets and stuffies from my teaching days; she LOVES it.  It is just in the living room and easiyl accessible any time and does she ever take advantage if its accessibility; she looks through the books ALL the time.

Tea and a Hat

Adeline has been asking to wear a hat on almost a daily basis.  She signs hat over and over and over until we give her one to wear and then she just happily wears it around the house.  It is so precious and strange considering I couldn't keep a hat on her head the first year of her life.  All that matters is that she's wearing it now...because the long, cold winter is on its way!

 Sad Bebe

Today was Adeline's most snuggly day EVER!!! She just wanted to lay in my lap this morning and she even let me wrap my robe around the both of us.  

Hat!

I swear it wasn't me...I did not put the bucket on Adeline's head like a hat!!! She did it all herself and then waltzed over to show me.  She must have really wanted to wear it, because it kept falling off and she kept putting it right back on again!

Hi!

Costume

We had a fall family photo shoot today...it went very smoothly! At the end I put Adeline in her Halloween Costume and got the photographer to take some photos so I don't have to worry too much on Halloween about taking some shots.  After the shoot we went to McD's and Adeline quite enjoyed eating fries in her costume!

Pushing Buttons

Today Adeline and Daddy were playing with the learning Turtle...its a Turtle that helps teach numbers 1-10 and the alphabet.  There are several different settings on it and one of them asks you to find different letters of the alphabet. It says, "Find the letter I" and when it says that the button above the letter I is blinks.  Adeline was totally waiting for a question and then pushing the right button!!! I totally get that Adeline was was just watching for the letter that was blinking and pushing the button, but she was still watching for the blinking button, waiting for it to stop blinking and then she would push it...It was great! She was really into it.

Day 286

 Bangs

Adeline got her first professional hair cut today...and she is very happy with it. Now she can eat without having to brush the hair of her eyes and therefore she will not be getting food in her hair anymore....YAY!!!

We are getting ready for a long, cold winter.  We are super excited that she is walking and may even be running in the snow this winter!!!

Potty Training

To help keep warm Adeline has been wearing a lot of Baby Legs during potty training.  She is happy to let me know when she is all done on the potty now...whether she has gone potty or not.

Our Little Veterinarian 

As you know Adeline LOVES Chloe!!! But today that love moved to another level.  Whenever the opportunity presented itself Adeline intently inspected Chloe; especially her eyes.  She was so gentle and slow while inspecting her Puppy it was just tooo sweet.  You could see that she just adores her Puppy.  

Day 283

 I am thankful...

We had a thanksgiving dinner this evening with Nana, Papa, Auntie Thea, Uncle Nathaniel and Auntie Alisha.  It was so much fun!!! We had a great turkey casserole and then went outside, across the street to hang out and toss the football around.  Adeline had a great time watching Daddy throwing the football around with Papa and Uncle Nathaniel.  As you can see she wanted to join in the fun at times...but mostly she was content to sit (or stand) and watch the football spin through the air from person to person.

Day 282

Hat

As I was getting Adeline dressed this morning to go to the basement all she wanted was a hat.  I kept telling her that we were only going downstairs, but she kept insisting she wanted to wear a hat.  So put a hat on her and she was quite content after that.  How cute is she?

Blueberries

Adeline's new favourite snack is Blueberries!  She eats them by the bowlful.  After nap 2 today I gave her some in a little Adeline bowl and she enjoyed her snack out in the yard on one of the most beautiful fall days this year.

Day 281

The Farm

We went to the Prairie Gardens Adventure Farm again today!  It was awesome! They had their pumpkin festival going on this weekend and there were pumpkins everywhere.

Here are some highlights of the day:

• Adeline kissing (licking) the bunny
• Adeline walking over to the goat to pet its tail
• Picking some great pumpkins and gourdes 
• Adeline's giggles of joy when the goats tried to lick her hands
• Adeline signing bath as she watched the ducks swim in the pond
• When the pumpkin cannon scared the poop right out of Mommy & Daddy, but it didn't phase Adeline at all

We will definitely be making some trips to the Praire Gardens Adventure Farm again in the future.  

Day 280

Old Is New Again

Adeline quite enjoyed jumping in her jump jump and swinging in her swing today.  I think she enjoyed her swing more today than any other day every before.  All week she has been going up to the swing and putting various "babies" in it and then she would try and get herself into it with her baby.  So today I broke down and put her in and she enjoyed just swinging with her bebe...as you can see she pretty much adores her leopard baby.
