Day 180

HAPPY BIRTHDAY UNCLE TIMMY!!

Shiner
Well Adeline you got a shiner (I actually think this is your second). You were cruising around the chairs a bit and fell over and smashed your face right on the edge of the wood chair leg. Daddy and I were wondering why you were soooo upset and crying even after we showed you some pictures of babies. Then we saw the redness around your eye...we are more than a little curious to see what it looks like tomorrow.

Day 154

Bracelet
Today you got some mail! It was what was supposed to be an anklet from Uncle Timmy...but apparently your ankles are a lot bigger than your uncle's estimation! But fortunately it fits perfectly as a bracelet! For the first 10 minutes all you wanted to do is play with it, try and rip it off and even try to eat it (no surprise there), but after that you didn't even notice it was there. It is abou the cutest baby bracelet that I ever did see! You are so happy every time you look at it, because it makes you think of your Uncle Timmy who you love very much!

Pow Wow
You went to your very frist Pow Wow this afternoon...and I do have to say you were a BIG fan! You absolutely loved it! You could not stop gyrating while sitting in my lap. You kept waving your arms and you had a beautiful, permanent smile pasted on your face. The drums were very LOUD (probably the loudest thing you have heard in your 10 months of life), but that didn't bother you. You loved watching the men and women dance and only stopped staring at their beautiful traditional regalia to look back to make sure I was watching too.

Day 141

Modeling
When we were in Vancouver Uncle Timmy gave Adeline this cute little outfit. She looks absolutely scrumptious in it...I am lovin her chubby, bare baby arms and legs. I rub and squeeze them all day long! Adeline enjoys having so much of he skin showing, it is just perfect for her to grab and pinch. Her new habit of pinching, herself and whoever else is near, when she is excited wreaks havoc on her (and my) skin. All day long she has strawberry coloured welts on her chest, arms and legs.
Here is Adeline practicing some of her pre-crawling skills; and as you can see this little outfit is just a cute from the back.

Day 137

Hanging out at Uncle Timmy's

Fun in the Sun at the Beach
Today was by far the nicest day we have had thus far in Vancouver...thank goodness we're leaving tomorrow and not today! Adeline experienced sand for the first time...she was not a fan, which was ok with me...as no sand in the hands means no sand in the mouth or eyes! But she did like the water and she especially liked the seashells. The highlight of Adeline's day today (other than Auntie Taylor coming home), was meeting a friend at the beach. A little girl named Olivia was playing at the beach with her family and her and Adeline became fast friends...Adeline could not stop talking to her and she could not stop smiling and playing peek-a-book with Adeline. I think Adeline is really looking forward to seeing her friends back home.

Day 136

Walking Through Stanley Park
Stanley Park is amazing! There are so many different trails to walk and things to see. We have visited it in some capacity almost every day since being in Vancouver...and if I lived here it would most definitely become a regular hang out for the Milligan Family. Today we walked through even more of the park than days before. As we were walking we saw some Canada Geese with their chicks (some chicks were just born - still had their yellow down feathers and others were a bit older and were getting darker in colour already), many old gnarly trees, a lake, a stream and some squirrels. It is pretty amazing to be in the middle of a big city and see all that involves (sky scrapers and many story condos) and also be in the middle of a lush oasis. In my opinion nothing could be better...even with the constant sprinkle this afternoon.

The Vancouver Aquarium
Watching the Dolphin show.
(Adeline sat quietly and watched the whole show...I think she liked the dolphins. She would see them jump up and do a trick and then look back at me, like she was wanting to say: "Hey Mom, did you see that?"

Checking out the Anemone

Checking out the Clown Fish
(Adeline kept saying sh-sh-sh...yes sweetie, these are Fish)

Sleeping Through the Shallow Seas 4D Show
(Mom got to wear these sweet glasses...although she did not get to enjoy the show sitting down)

Jelly Fish (I thought it was a cool picture and wanted to share)

Day 132

SUN!!
Finally! We took advantage by touring Stanley Park...Uncle Timmy had fun learning to drive the stroller and playing with Adeline at the Park. It was also nice to have a photographer with us so we can take some Milligan family photos!

Day 131

Babywearing Walk on the Stanley Park Sea Wall
Our little Adeline is still on Edmonton time, therefore she was up at 5:30 Vancouver time. So after some breakfast all four of us went out to Stanley Park for a walk. Adeline is very much enjoying her time here in Vancouver and was content to sit in the baby carrier and found great pleasure in taking in the ride and sights. Here is Adeline after about 20 minutes of walking:

Thanks to Uncle Timmy for giving up his hat to help keep Adeline's head warm and dry.

Today was a cold and very wet day, it rained for basically the whole day. Uncle Timmy, Daddy and Mommy were all soaked when we got back to the apartment...but because she was in the carrier under Mommy's vest for two Adeline was cozy warm and dry.

Day 130

30,000 Feet
Adeline is a surprising great flyer! She was awake and watching out the window, laughing with Daddy and smiling at our hostess for the first 30 minutes. Then our tired, hungry baby drank a bottle and fell asleep; she slept for the following 45 minutes. As we began our descent she began stir and then finally woke up just in time for the last 15 minutes of our flight.

Good thing I brought a bag full of entertainment...because we did not use even one piece of it.

Flowers
Our thoughtful and welcoming host set up some beautiful flowers in our room :) - Just wanted to share...Thanks Bro!

Day 122

Reading With Uncle Timmy
Uncle Timmy surprised us with a visit to Edmonton the other day...when I say surprise, I mean surprise. He just showed up at our house the other day and we had no idea he was even in town...it was awesome! Well today he came over to get some face time with Adeline. They had a short, but good visit. As you can see, she very much enjoyed having her uncle read to her...I think they read 10 in the hour and a half she was awake for his visit.

Day 80

Goodbye (for now)
Today Adeline and I joined Grandma Shelly in taking Uncle Timmy to the airport. It was fun to see him one last time before his departure of this cold, snowy town, but also sad to see him go.
I know you are all thinking it, so I'm gonna ask...Uncle Timmy, just wondering is your shirt on inside-out?

Say Cheese
When eating dinner this evening (at Wendy's) Adeline produced a HUGE snot bubble out of her nose and I really wanted to get it on camera so I pulled out the ol' digicam and tried to document the bugger. Well, when I realized it was going to show up again I said to Adeline, "Say Cheese" so she put her arms out to both sides and gave me a silly little smile.

Day 79

Uncle Timmy Time
Uncle Timmy leaves to go back home tomorrow, so he and Adeline got some quality time together today. He came over for some lunch, played with Adeline, changed a diaper and even fed Adeline a bottle of milk (I think they had a good time).

Here is a first hand look at Adeline's hand clapping.
She is becoming more fluent, though still does not make any noise when doing it. I heep reassuring her that one day she will be able to make noise, just like mommy, she just needs to keep practicing, and like a good little student she does. She will almost do it on command now...you clap and then she claps, you clap and she will do the same again.

Day 75

More New Shoes
I am not sure if you remember my last New Shoes post from Day 26, if you recall Adeline loves new shoes...she comes by it honestly, I can also see a love of purses in her future as well (just like mom). Adeline and I met up with Grandma and Uncle Timmy today for some lunch and shopping, Uncle Timmy's Favourite!!! I am not so sure Adeline was diggin on the shopping today, she slept, Uncle Timmy babysat in the van while Grandma and Mommy did all the actual shopping. Well Adeline got some new shoes again today, but since she kept kicking off her socks today I could only put one new shoe on her...she didn't seem to mind! I think she likes them; they were helping her do some good standing today.

I Got My New Hat On
Adeline also got a new hat today and although she typically hates hats (usually the warm, winter variety) she didn't seem this one. It might just be because with this hat also comes the promise of sunnier and hopefully warmer weather.

Day 73

Hangin With Uncle Timmy
Uncle Timmy came over to have some quality Adeline time while in town. And as you can see Chloe had to get in there too! Adeline had lots of fun playing with Uncle Timmy and is excited to see him again before he goes home.

Day 69

Surprise
Does Adeline look shocked in this picture...well she was! Her Uncle Timmy came from Vancouver for a visit this week (she didn't even know until today that he was even coming). And was she ever excited to see him!!!

Special Note to Uncle Timmy:
Thank you for coming for a visit. We have missed you so much and are so happy to see you again! We love you!
Love, Kelly and Adeline
